You Tell Us: What Would You Do With $500 Million?

Patch wants to know what our readers would do if they won the Mega Millions on Friday.

The jackpot for the Mega Millions lottery game’s Friday drawing has reached a record $500 million.

If the right five numbers are selected—and you actually play the lottery— it could change your life forever.  Although the chances of you winning are something like 1 in a 176 million, it’s still nice to dream about what you could do with all that cash.

So that’s what Patch wants you to tell us this week.

What would you do with $500 million? Tell us in comments.

Just talking to coweorkers about this. I'd perhaps give a buck to 500 million people so they can buy a lotto ticket. Oh naturally though......pay off my debts, pay off debts for family and close friends and of course......... Have The Senator becoming what it CAN be and SHOULD be!! :-)

According to Forbes March 2012, the value of the Baltimore Orioles is $460 million. I'd meet or beat the price!

I'm not 1,000 percent sure what I would do. I think I'd spend the money traveling to different world events and write a blog about it.

Charitable giving would definitely be a big part of my plan - I'd love to be able to give back to Baltimore in a big way, But quietly. (After 20 years working at the Baltimore Community Foundation, I know it's possible!)

I would rebuild the Royal Theatre, upgrade "The Point" to make it competitive again, fund 1st class recreation centers for the City's Youth as well as provide them with tutors in high school and scholarships for whatever college they wanted to attend in Baltimore City, restore as many blocks of houses as possible beginning with the building at the corner of Gwynns Falls and Archentoroly Terrace and fund a place for the Arabbers and insure they continue to be a part of our tradition.

I would buy the Station North Arts & Entertainment District and give artists and actors free rent.
