Recently two Baltimore County politicians have been critical of the city’s safety and advocated for the Maryland State Police to patrol the area.

Sen. Jim Brochin and Del. Pat McDonough claim their constituents are afraid to visit, even though the city has experienced some of the lowest reported crime numbers in a generation.

McDonough, a Republican, first lobbed criticism of the city's safety when he said  were attacking people in the Inner Harbor.
