Sail Baltimore Celebrates 10 Years of Beer, Boats and Ballads

Since 1975, Sail Baltimore has brought majestic tall ships and modern navy vessels from around the world to Charm City.  One reason the group has been going strong for nearly 40 years has been overwhelming public support of the group’s two signature fundraising events: Beer Boats and Ballads and the Summer FUNraiser.  This year, Sail Baltimore is combining the two gatherings into one giant outdoor party at the Tiki Barge and Harborview Marina in South Baltimore.
On Wednesday, June 12, 2013 from 6pm - 9pm, the public is invited enjoy a warm summer evening with live music by Unity Reggae Band, delicious food and drinks donated by local restaurants, and free tours of the three-masted tall ship Gazela Primiero.  Fantasticsilent auction items and rides on the Baltimore Seadog speedboat are among the other attractions that make this event a hot summer ticket.

“Beer Boats & Ballads has always been one of the most popular local events each year, so we wanted to do something special to celebrate our tenth year,” said Executive Director of Sail Baltimore Laura Stevenson. “With cool island music, great refreshments a magnificent tall ship and perfect June weather, I really can’t think of a better way to spend an evening on the waterfront in Baltimore.”

Tickets are $65 per person prior to the event, $75 at the door and a packet of 10 tickets is $600. Guest can enjoy all you can eat/drink refreshments* with admission. Tickets are available online at www.sailbaltimore.org.  All proceeds from the event will go toward supporting visiting ships, maritime events and educational programs, such as the next major tall ship gathering, Star Spangled Spectacular, in September of 2014.

Beer Boats and Ballads is being made possible through the generosity of M&T Bank, Baltimore Marine Centers, Bobby’s Portable Restrooms, Moran Towing, Ports America, Rukert Terminals, SunTrust Bank and Vane Brothers
