Artscape in under two hours

Because there was some cloud cover this morning and it was under 80 degrees, I applied some sun screen, guzzled some water and drove down Greenmount and across Preston to find a place to park my car about ten blocks southeast of Artscape.

I love to see colorful gaudy carnival booths squeezed in spaces along the streets of stately Bolton Hill while their stall workers hawk beverages and foods.

I love watching whimsical stages set out on the asphalt for alternative theatre groups while wandering Charles Street around the train station in the shadow of our iconic Male/Female giant.

And I love getting glimpses of what many talented regional multimedia artists are dreaming up in their studios, producing and then selling.

If the heat and humidity kept you away, stroll through the snapshots I took today until the sun shown so strong I had to hurry home.

Noteworthy to me and worth exploring online:

www.stillpointetheatre.com performing HAIR in August at the Strand,

www.jsingewald.com creating urgent photos of Old Town Mall and Main Street and

www.swamphox.com exquisite photos printed on materials - be sure to go through his Baltimore and Chesapeake slideshows!!
