Seeing the Blue Angels Show from the Patapsco River

Seeing the Blue Angels show from a boat on the Baltimore Harbor

On Saturday, June 16, 2012, I was invited to ride along with Waverly Ace Hardware owner John Elliott on his boat from Bear Creek out into the Patapsco River, passing by Fort Carroll, under Key Bridge, to a spot on the water where we awaited the Blue Angels Air Show during the Star-Spangled Sailabation anchored among a sea of vessels, large and small.

It was a picnic of boats filled with passengers rocking and rolling back and forth and up and down in waves from wake and wind.

At the moment the air show began my camera battery read exhausted, but it would have been impossible for my little point and shoot box to capture those beautiful magnificant flying machines soaring with unbelievable speed through the sky in an orchestrated ballet that had us all on the water in absolute awe!
