Snowflake Tour of Charles Village

A second annual seasonal tour of homes took place in Charles Village today.

The Snowflake Tour of Charles Village Homes 2011 included 13 stops this year. This was the second year for the holiday season event that ironically had to be cancelled the first time it was planned because of a blizzard.

Charles Village Civic Association has to be one of if not the best run neighborhood organizations in the city.

I wouldn’t miss their June garden walk tours during their festival!

This wintry tour full of Christmas trees, whimsical decorations plus homemade cookies and hot cider offered by most of the hosts was a great way to spend a few hours going from from house to house along clean sidewalks.

Today’s tour began at Village Learning Center, featured homes on St. Paul, Charles, Guilford and 32nd Street and included Homewood Museum at Johns Hopkins.

A bright, cheery program with personal tidbits about each stop and notes on village history guided the way.

Thanks to Sandy Sparks for creating a little holiday village to display next to her dollhouse complete with a decorated lighted tree. My favorite moment was meeting Rudy the dog at the Millards.

The photos don't do any of the scenes justice and lack the great scents and seasonal background music.
