Tis the Season in Waverly Village

Waverly Main Street is Counting Down To Christmas

Happy Thanksgiving blog readers!

I plan to join fellow villagers tomorrow morning at St. Johns. All are welcome!

Village National Thanksgiving Day Service

10:00 am Thursday November 22, 2012

Saint John's in the Village Church

Old York Road & Greenmount Avenue

And tis the Season!

Waverly Main Street is so ready for Christmas and counting down for you with a splash of activity this holiday season!

When you go by the Olmsted green at 33rd & Greenmount, be sure to look up and see the Clear Channel billboard featuring the Waverly Wonderland schedule.

To get in the spirit, a budding local artists named Greg who works at the local ACE hardware store, painted a fabulous turkey in the Waverly Ace window with a Happy Thanksgiving message; but you better hurry to see it because he will be re-painting the window this weekend for Xmas!

THE LATE BREAKING NEWS from Waverly Main Street is that “THE DRIVER” who stars in those late-night TV commercials for Greenmount Loan & Jewelry will MC the Miracle on Main Street 6pm until 8pm Wednesday November 28th KICKOFF event at Peabody Heights Brewery,  401. E 30th St. in their Tasting Room where local merchants and restaurants will be highlighted while Soul Centered plays some hot holiday jazz.  The Mayor will join the City Council President and Mary Pat Clarke at ceremonies which follow a fast five minute Next Level fashion show.

It’s free, open to the public and includes tours of the brewery with that Ravens beer.

On Saturday, November 24th from 9am until 12 noon volunteers are dressing up The Road (as old-timers called it) with holiday decorating starting out at the Waverly Main Street office, 3124 Greenmount, which now features Greg's painted Santa wearing red neon glasses in the old Penn Optical window.
