Charles Village Festival Showcases Neighborhood

The two day festival begins on Saturday and will feature bands, brews and food.

The Charles Village Festival is more than an opportunity for neighbors to get together, have a beer and eat funnel cake.

The festival—which includes a 5K run, and Garden Walk—is a chance for the neighborhood to show itself off to a wider audience.

"I think it's in the mix of drawing people from surrounding neighborhoods, and using the bands to draw people from throughout the metro area and beyond. It does give us a chance to showcase the neighborhood," said John Spurrier, a resident who helps organize the festival.
