City Officials Address Roland Avenue Traffic

The Department of Transportation will host a meeting about proposed traffic improvements on Roland Avenue.

The Department of Transportation will discuss plans with Roland Park residents to improve traffic along Roland Avenue on Thursday.

Residents will be able to discuss the plans, which include resurfacing and new intersections along Northern Parkway, with department officials starting at 5:30 p.m. at

In November the Roland Park Civic League unveiled plans for $3.5 million in traffic calming in the neighborhood that is intended to reduce congestion.

Roland Avenue, between Wyndhurst Avenue and Northern Parkway, can often become backed up, especially because four schools: Roland Park Elementary and Middle School, , and are all located within less than a mile along the corridor.

The price tag of the improvements will be covered with a mix of federal and city dollars as well as with contributions from Gilman and Bryn Mawr.
