Baltimore City residents play key roles in new TV series

Al Spoler and Sarah Sampson, both residents of Baltimore City, have been named to the production team of the new Maryland Public Television weekly series Maryland Farm & Harvest.  Mr. Spoler of the Lake Montebello area will serve as contributing editor and Ms. Sampson as segment producer.  Season one of the program makes its debut on MPT on Tuesday, November 19 at 7 p.m.

 

MPT’s Maryland Farm & Harvest puts a human face on Maryland agriculture, telling the stories of the people who grow food and fiber.  From locations statewide, the series chronicles the successes of and the challenges to the state’s No. 1 industry.

In each weekly episode, Mr. Spoler will report from the field in a segment called “The Local Buy” in which he takes viewers to farms and markets around the state to find the best of Maryland-grown food.  In her production role, Ms. Sampson will be responsible for developing and telling unique stories about farmers and growers from across Maryland.

The Maryland Department of Agriculture is MPT’s co-production partner for Maryland Farm & Harvest. Major funding is provided by the Maryland Grain Producers.
