Baltimore celebrated its 284th birthday on Tuesday.

Tuesday, July 30 was Baltimore's 284th birthday—and whether it's the Orioles, Ravens, the Inner Harbor or Old Bay, there certainly is a lot of love about both Baltimore and Maryland.

Established in 1729, Baltimore was named after Caecilius Calvert, the second Lord Baltimore and the first proprietary governor of the Province of Maryland, according to Visit Baltimore.

More Baltimore trivia to be proud of? Baltimore was also once thecapital of the United States, and Johns Hopkins is the No. 1 hospital in America.
