2 Males Shot on Boone Street

The men were taken to area hospitals for treatment.

Two males were found shot Wednesday afternoon about a block from where a teenager was gunned down the night before.

Det. Jeremy Silbert, a police spokesman, said at about 2 p.m. police found two males, one shot in the chest and the other in the chest and leg, in the 2600 block of Boone Street.

Both of them have been taken to area hosptials for treatment.

Detectives are still investigating the incident, but are searching for two persons of interest who were seen in the area near the time of the shooting.

Silbert said he didn't want to speculate on whether the incident was related to Tuesday night's shootings nearby.

A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed and two other men were wounded in a shooting the night before in the 2600 block of Greenmount Avenue.

Silbert said police will be stepping up patrols throughout the city during the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend.

"Commissioner [Anthony] Batts has increased foot patrols throughout the city and he is utilitzing officers assigned to administrative duties to fill these roles," Silbert said.
