City Set to Kick Off Mitten Tree Campaign

It will be the 39th year residents and employees have collected winter clothing.

The city will once again be collecting mittens, gloves, hats and scarves to donate to the Salvation Army this holiday season.

The 39th annual Mitten Tree campaign will officially start at 11 a.m., on Dec. 6 at the Abel Wolman Municipal Building, 200 Holiday St., when Santa Claus will toss the first mittens onto the tree.

The event will also feature performances by the Department of Public Works/Department of Transportation Employee Band and Singers, the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club and students from Cecil Elementary School.
