North Baltimore Crime: Woman Robbed at Gunpoint on University Parkway

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Armed Robbery: 200-block E. University Parkway, 1:14 a.m., March 2. A woman was trying to open her front door when a robber approached from behind, put a gun to her head and demanded money. The woman handed over her wallet and the suspect ran west on University Parkway.

Robbery Commercial Armed: 5900-block York Road, 2:39 p.m., Feb. 26. A man was selling copies of the Baltimore Sun at the intersection of Northern Parkway and York Road when he went to Jerry’s Belvedere to take a bathroom break. When he came out, robbers approached him with a handgun and demanded his property. He handed over $275 before the robbers got into a gold vehicle and drove away.

Arson: 1300 block W. 42nd Street, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 26. A resident’s shrubbery was set on fire.

Rosebank

Larceny from Auto: 5700 block York Road, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Feb. 26. The window of a 2010 Nissan was busted out and a handicap placard was stolen.

Abell

Larceny from Auto: 3100 block Greenmount Avenue, between 11:30 p.m., Feb. 26 and 1:50 a.m., Feb. 27. The window of a 2002 Honda was smashed and a backpack and various paperwork were stolen.

Larceny from Auto: 400 block E. 32nd Street, between 10:15 p.m., Feb. 26 and 1:50 a.m., Feb. 27. The window of a 2012 Subaru was smashed and credit cards, $40 and a purse were stolen.

Robbery Commercial Armed: 3200 block Greenmount Avenue, 11:43 a.m., Feb. 29. Robbers walked into the Boost Mobile store and asked about purchasing cell phones. When an employee was helping one of the robbers, the other sprayed the employee in the face with mace. The robbers took a cell phone and ran out of the store.

Burglary Residential: 3200-block Guilford Avenue, 7:32 p.m., Feb. 27. A burglar smashed a rear window with a brick and stole a laptop and a charger.

Attempted Burglary Residential: 300-block E. 30th Street, 1:45 p.m., March 1. A burglar forced open a screen door and a resident heard the noise. He confronted the burglar who said he worked for BGE. The resident said he was calling the police and the burglar jumped in a tan van and drove away.

Burglary: 3400-block N. Charles Street, 3:50 p.m., Feb. 28. Someone entered an unlocked office in the university’s athletic center and stole a laptop.

North Roland Park/Poplar Hill

Larceny: 919 Bellemore Road, 1 p.m., Feb. 29. A babysitter allegedly took silverware and jewelry from the home and pawned the items.

Kernewood

Burglary Residential: 320 Kerneway, between midnight and 7 a.m., Feb. 29. A burglary smashed a window with a brick and stole $150 and a cell phone.

Larceny from Machine: 4700 block N. Charles Street, between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., Feb. 26.  Someone forced open a vending machine and stole cash.

Lake Evesham

Larceny: 6000 block York Road, between 12:10 a.m. and 2 a.m., Feb 26. A woman left her iPhone on a table at a house party where it was stolen. She later saw her phone on sale on Craig’s List and contacted the person selling the phone. The person wanted $600 to return it.

Charles Village

Larceny: unit block E. 32nd Street, 12:40 p.m., Feb. 28.  Someone approached a man, snatched a cell phone from his hands and ran south on Lovegrove Alley.

Larceny: 2700 block N. Charles Street, between 8 p.m., Feb. 27 and 12:01 a.m., Feb. 28.  A woman left a pink wallet containing $20, an iPod and a diamond ring on a tray in her room that was missing when she returned.

Larceny: 2500 block N. Charles Street, 4:50 p.m., March 2. A shoplifter tried to steal soap and body wash from CVS. The suspect was stopped by security and was later arrested.

Hampden

Larceny from Auto: 3400 block Roland Avenue, between 7 and 10 p.m., March 1. A Kindle, clothes and GPS were stolen from a 2011 Subraru.

Larceny from Auto: 3400 Chestnut Avenue, 8:30 and 11:20 p.m., March 1. A sterling silver bracelet was stolen from a 1997 Mercury.

Hoes Heights

Larceny: 1000 block W. 41st Street, between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m., March 2. A man left his jacket at the Dunkin Donuts with his wallet in the pocket. When he returned, the jacket was there but the wallet was gone.

Mount Washington

Stolen Auto: 2000 block W. Rogers Avenue, 8:45 p.m., March 2. A blue 2009 scooter was stolen but later found by the owner on Flexford Road.
