CRIME: Bank Robber Threatens to Shoot Teller

Rosebank

York Road, 5900 block, 10:55 a.m., June 22. A suspect entered M & T Bank and handed the teller a note that read, “Give me $5,000 or I’ll shoot you.” The teller handed over an unknown amount of currency and the suspect fled south.

East Belvedere Avenue, 400 block, 1:10 a.m., June 21. Two suspects armed with guns approached two men in a parking lot. One suspect told the men to “drop your [stuff].” As the men were following orders, four more men pulled up in a gold Nissan. The two suspects then climbed in the car and fled in an unknown direction.

Better Waverly

Greenmount Avenue, 2800 block, 8:37 p.m., June 19. Two suspects with handguns entered the Family Dollar, went to a register and announced a robbery. The four customers in the store got down on the floor. One of the robbers took $40 from a customer. Both suspects then went over the counter and took money from the register.

Medfield

Woodheights Avenue, 1500 block, 10:30 p.m., June 19. The victim was walking when the suspect approached with a knife and said, “Give me it.” The robber took the victim’s purse and fled east on foot.

Remington

Sisson Street, 2700 block, 6:50 p.m., June 20. The victim was at a gas station when the suspect, yelling profanities, approached and struck her with his cane.

Morton Street, 2700 block, 5:22 p.m., June 22. The suspect sprayed two victims in the face with mace and pointed a silver handgun at them during an argument. A second suspect waiting in a white car told the first suspect to “shoot the [expletive].”

East 28th Street, 200 block, 2:30 p.m., June 22. The suspect tried to pass counterfeit bills at 7-Eleven. When an employee refused to accept the bills, the suspect pulled a knife and threatened him. Police responded and arrested the suspect.  

Charles Village

Calvert Street, 3000 block, 10:14 p.m., June 20. A woman was walking home when two suspects approached her. One suspect, carrying a knife, told her to “give me the money, all the money.” The woman threw a plate of food she was carrying at the suspects and then threw her wallet at them. The suspects retrieved the wallet and ran away.

Evergreen

West Cold Spring Lane, 200 block, 9:41 p.m., June 20. A suspect entered the Royal Farms Store with a handgun and demanded money. The employee took money from the register and handed it to the suspect, who fled on foot.

Mid-Govans

York Road, 5600 block, 4:29 p.m., June 25. A suspect entered Wendy’s with his back to the counter and told an employee to open the register or he would kill her. The employee told him that she didn’t have keys. The suspect told her to use the swipe card on her belt or he would kill everyone in the restaurant. The employee opened the register, gave the suspect an unknown amount of cash, and he ran off with the money.
