CRIME: Detective Bit by Pit Bull While Arresting Suspect
Here's a roundup of some of the crimes reported in North Baltimore last week.
Remington
West 29th Street, 400 block, 2:30 p.m., May 17. Baltimore police officers were chasing a suspect for possible drug and firearm violations when the suspect ran into a house through the back door. Officers followed the suspect into the house and attempted to take him into custody. While the officers were trying to arrest him, the suspect called to a pit bull that then came out and bit a detective. The dog was forced into a bedroom and the suspect was arrested.

Woodheights Avenue, 1100 block, 1:15 a.m., May 16. A man and woman who attempted to stop their two roommates from fighting became the victims of an escalating conflict. When the male roommate interceded, one of the fighting roommates stabbed him multiple times in the chest with a knife. The victim and the female roommate fled the house, chased by the two who had been fighting. While fleeing, the woman was cut on the head from a compact disc.

West 41st Street, 1400 block, 6 p.m., May 17. A victim was driving a car when a suspect threw a rock through his windshield. The suspect fled on foot. The victim was uninjured.
Evergreen
West Cold Spring Lane, 200 block, 10:35 p.m., May 18. A clerk was working at the Royal Farms when a suspect entered the store armed with a handgun. The suspect told the clerk, “Give me the money.” The clerk complied and the suspect ran westbound on Cold Spring Lane.
