CRIME: Man Carjacked on York Road

Here's a roundup of some of the crimes committed in North Baltimore last week.

Charles Village

Calvert Street, 2300 block, 5:45 p.m., May 3. A man was leaving a house when he saw a suspect stealing an air compressor from his truck. When the man approached his truck, a second suspect sitting in a nearby 2000 Nissan pointed a silver handgun at him and told him not to move. The first suspect placed the air compressor in the car and the two drove off.

York Road, 5300 block, 12:25 p.m., May 4. A man was sitting at a red light in his Volkswagen Passat when suspects forced their way into his car. One was brandishing a silver handgun. The suspects demanded that the driver take them to the 700 block of Beaverbrook Road. They then forced him out and drove off with his car.

Falls Road, 3900 block, 5:10 p.m., May 1. U-Haul employees were closing for the day when several suspects, one with a handgun, entered through the rear door. One suspect put a gun to an employee and said, "Run it.” The suspects then stole two bags full of money.

Elm Avenue, 3500 block, 1:45 p.m., May 1. A man sitting in his house heard someone enter through the rear door. When he checked to see who had come in, he saw someone fleeing the house. The suspect took a purse, cell phone, credit cards and $40. The man chased the suspect down and took the purse back before the robber fled.
