CRIME: Woman Calls Cops After Dealer Attempts to Collect
Here's a roundup of part one crimes from the Northern District.

Maryland Avenue, 2100 block, 10 a.m. April 3. After nearly causing a car accident with a female victim, several suspects then assaulted the woman, according to police. During the attack, a group of people began to yell at the suspects, who then went to their car and brought out baseball bats and began swinging at the crowd. One man was struck in the head and lost consciousness. Suspects fled the scene but were later arrested in the Western District.

Westerwald Avenue, 3300 block, 9:30 p.m. April 4. A robber carrying a .380 Bersa Thunder handgun approached two victims and demanded money. One victim told the robber he had no money. The robber then demanded money from the second victim. The first victim then punched the robber and they began to struggle for the gun. The gun fired during the struggle, but the victim was able to pry the gun away from the robber, who then fled the scene on foot.

20th Street, unit block, between April 2 and April 4. Victim had purchased drugs from suspect on April 1 and was supposed to pay for them the next day, according to police. When the suspect came to collect, he pointed a silver handgun at the complainant. She then slammed the door and the suspect fled. On April 3 and 4, the suspect again showed up at the victim's home brandishing a gun.
