'Hack' Driver Attempts to Rob Woman in Remington

The driver pulled a knife on a passenger after she asked to be taken to Columbia.

A woman was nearly robbed in Remington after taking a ride from an illegal taxi.

According a police report, at 12:50 a.m. on Sept. 18 a woman caught a “hack,” or an illegal cab, in the 500 block of W. 28th Street and told the driver she wanted to go to Columbia.

That’s when the driver stopped and told her: “I’m not taking you all the way to Columbia. Give me all your money or I’m gonna shank you.”

The driver then pulled out a knife and the woman jumped out of the car and the hack drove south on Sisson in a blue minivan.

Who would be so desperate to get to Columbia at 1 am on a Tuesday? Was she on crack?

That is why you never use illegal cabs. You sometime take enough risks with legal ones today, why risk your life getting into a car with someone you don't know?

Definitely more questions than answers on this one. Is she a resident of Remington looking for a ride to Howard County and why; if not, how did she get here in the first place? I think her story needs follow-up, because now I'm curious about the why, who and how anyone gets a hack on that street at that time. Lucky she wasn't killed.

The fact that this woman cannot afford a car, and that shi is getting in a car with a stranger, is proof that Obama's policies are not working. I'm not saying you should vote for President Romney, but I am saying we have to do whatever we can to get Mr. Obama out of office.

How in the hell do you turn an attack into a political agenda, Lance? Insanity. People like you are mouths without action......

I'll agree that insanity is the only answer to Lance's post. I'd Flag as Inappropriate, but I'd rather let everyone see how stupid that comment was.
