Man Charged in Home Invasion and Rape

A 29-year-old woman was raped in her home on Greenmount Avenue near Guilford in November.

Baltimore City police have charged Nelson Clifford with a rape in the 3700 block of Greenmount Avenue in November.

Police said they were able to charge Clifford with the rape because of DNA discovered at the scene. His DNA was already in the system because he is a registered sex offender stemming from a 1996 conviction.

Police allege that Clifford broke into the home of a 29-year-old woman at about 4 a.m. and attacked her while her children slept in a nearby room.
