Man Charged with Harwood Murder

Police believe 19-year-old Tyrone Alston shot and killed his girlfriend.

Baltimore police have arrested a 19-year-old man and charged him with the Oct. 12 murder of Tashawna Jones in Harwood.

Police allege that Tyrone Alston, the victim’s boyfriend, shot and killed Jones in the 300 block of E. 26th Street. He now faces charges including first-degree murder, first-degree assault and various handgun charges.

Last month officers arrived on the scene and found Jones suffering from head trauma and being treated by paramedics. She was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital where she died from her wounds suffered when she was shot in the head.
