Man Charged with Murder of Remington Woman

20-year-old Syron Akili Abdullah is charged in the death of Johma Blackwell.

(UPDATED 3:25 p.m.) — Syron Akili Abdullah, 20, has been arrested on charges of murdering a Remington woman last month, according to police.

Johma Blackwell, 18, was found stabbed to death in a home in the 2600 block of Huntingdon Ave. in late March.

Det. Kevin Brown, a police spokesman, said Abdullah is facing charges of first-degree murder and armed robbery.

According to electronic court records, Abdullah has previously been charged with rape and armed robbery.
