A man was punched and robbed at gunpoint while waiting for a bus near York Road.

According to Baltimore police, at 10:30 p.m., Feb. 12 the man was at a bus stop in the 500 block of E. Coldspring Lane, when a robber approached him and said "Give me all your [expletive]."

If conceal carry permits were allowed to the average law abiding citizen the odds of a Criminal robbing a guy walking down the street would drop drasticly becuase the threat to the criminal of getting shot by the person he is trying to rob for $20 dollars would be a drastic deterant because we all know as much as BCPD tries they cant protect us. and the courts wont make the punishments enough of a deterant to petty crimes so we the walkers & bike riders of the streets of baltimore need to be armed and create our own deterant to the criminal. If one ever aproaches me he will have a big surprise. I am a CCP holder and I will shoot to kill if the situation will alow me to do so with in the laws confines of the threat presented to me by the criminal. If he has a Weapon he will DIE! If not it will take him 6 monthe to heal in the hospitol after I get done with him........I believe in re applying force with a 10 times multiplier. some one hits you hit them back ten times and ten times harder. They shoot at you, shoot them ten times. Send a Message that will put fear in the criminal. Make the crime not worth the punisment.

Concealed Carry doesn't have any effect on crime whatsoever. You need to get over your "Rescue Fantasy".

I believe in having concealed carry permits available for more Marylanders. I also believe that having a CCP can save your life or someone else's. Why? Because it saved mine when I had one in another state. I didn't even have to fire my handgun, the gun being drawn was deterrent enough and the criminal was caught. I do not agree with Seal Team 2's comments above. You do not use 10 times the force back. You use the least amount of force necessary to contain the situation - if that is simply escaping the situation, you do that, if it's pulling your weapon, you do that, and if it is firing your weapon to honestly save your life and/or the life of those around you, then you do that. Cavalier attitudes will do more harm and unfortunately, there are a few out there but they are not the majority. I fully support the Second Amendment and more conceal carry permits, but I also support the notion that people need to take that responsibility seriously and train their minds. Know when to draw, know when to hold fire, and know when and where it is responsible to fire if needed.

Well Steve, what I can tell you is I have been present in 2 robbery attempts of Businesses and 2 attempted street crimes in the last 25 years of which all 4 resulted in criminals in Jail with injuries and conviction that will make them think twice about trying to do it again when they get out of jail. I am sure our deterrent and punishment on seen was more fearful than there time in jail. Matt, if in the event he was running away with any of my property I would take whatever means necessary to recover my or other person’s possessions. Because we all know the police won’t get it back unless they trip over it. They are too busy with more serious stuff to be object retrievers.

In order to save and prepare for a comfortable retirement I made the choice to live in a lesser neighbor hood that I can afford so I could save my money. As a result I have to deal with Crime not known the counties and cuddled communities and the wealthy neighbor hoods of Baltimore. But I can assure you the animals in the area this guy lives in knows that if you mess with my house I have Guns and skills and will hunt you like a dog if you screw with my property and as a result after securing at gunpoint and having arrested tress passers attempting to get in my garage on two separate occasions and 3 car thieves attempting to steal one of my neighbors cars parked on the street and having two separate groups of drug dealers removed from my block with in the first 18 months of living where I live I have had no problems on my property but many others in the surrounding area have had lots of sheds and cars and houses robbed but no one bothers any of my stuff. And I have been here 13 years now. So what I do works for me. Therefore I will continue to do it.

Snow, Baltimore city is full of repeat offenders because our justice system and rehabilitation systems are pretty much a Joke and accomplish little in the way of deterring or containing the repeat offender or rehabilitating the ones that deserve to be and can be helped. And the perfect example is the high rate of repeat offenders in Baltimore, it can’t be disputed.

I think that if the courts do not do their job, the courts should have no right to come after someone who is defending themselves by an means that are necessary. If some (generally re-offending) piece of trash threatens me, my family, or anyone else I should be able to defend them and I no matter if it's in my home, on my property, in a business, or on the street whether it's with a gun, fist, pipe, knife, etc.
