Man Stabbed During Robbery

The robber escaped with a wallet containing $52.

A man was stabbed during an armed robbery in the Wilson Park neighborhood.

At 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, a man was walking in the 500 block of East 43rd Street when he was approached by a robber who demanded his property, according to a police report.

The robber implied he had a handgun but the man told him to get out of his way. The robber then pulled out a knife and said "I’m not [expletive] playing."

A struggle ensued and the man was stabbed in his arm. He dropped his wallet containing $52 the robber picked it up and ran.

Again...the city police offers the public no description of the criminal. Don't you feel like you have a right to know what this animal looks like?

Patch's policy is: descriptions unless they are very detailed and or the police have released a photo of a suspect. Generalized descriptions don't inform the public in a meaningful way

Any description can help catch the criminal. Even with a very vague decription someone in the neighborhood could have seen the assailent running away and be able to provide more information. Unless there was an arrest, any of the information given by police should be posted publicly. The goal needs to be to get this guy off of the street before he commits another crime (next time the victim may not be so lucky).
