North Baltimore Crime: City Parking Boot Stolen

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Larceny: 2700 block Calvert St., between 6:52 a.m. and 11 a.m., April 3. A city employee put a parking boot on a 2002 Mercury with California plates. But when she returned later that morning the car and the boot were gone.

Attempted Burglary Residential: 2700 block Guilford Ave., between 10:30 a.m. and 8:45 p.m., April 1. A burglar attempted to enter a home by opening a rear window and busting out a window on a rear door. But the would-be burglar failed to gain entry.

Aggravated Assault: 100-block E. 31st Street, 10 p.m., April 4. A man was walking with his girlfriend when men in a nearby car started making comments about the woman. The man said something back to the men in the car. The men in the car then got out and one of them was armed with a knife. They began to punch the man, who was eventually able to escape. The men in the car were able to locate the man again and were armed with a piece of wood. They then said, “they’d be back” and got into a blue BMW and drove off.

Larceny Shoplifting: 2500 block N. Charles St., 3:25 p.m., April 7. A shoplifter was arrested trying to steal lotion, mouthwash and body wash from CVS.

Hampden

Robbery Commercial Armed: 3600 block Keswick Road, 3:43 a.m., April 3.  A robber armed with a handgun stole $434 from the Royal Farms store. The robber then demanded to know where the Newport cigarettes were kept and stole seven cartons. 

Burglary Commercial: 3000 Falls Road, between 3:30 p.m., April 4 and 5 a.m., April 5. Someone broke into the offices at a construction site and stole an Impact drill set, two chip hammers and a chop saw. The burglar got into the office by cutting the padlock off of a door.

Homeland

Larceny from Auto: 200 block Witherspoon Road, between 8 p.m., April 2 and 7 a.m., April 3. A purse containing various paperwork and gift cards was stolen from a 2003 Mini Cooper.

Larceny from Auto: 100 block Taplow Road, between 7 p.m., April 2 and 8:30 a.m. April 3. A Dell laptop was stolen from a 2003 black Mini Cooper.

Harwood

Larceny from Auto: 300 block E. 27th St., between 4:59 and 5:55 p.m., April 3. A license plate was stolen from a car.

Better Waverly

Larceny: 700 block Exeter Hall Ave., between 3 and 7:30 a.m., April 2. A woman had a friend staying over who stole $300 from a bedroom drawer while she slept.

Aggravated Assault: 600-block E. 29th St., 6:02 p.m., April 6. A man was inside his home when two men kicked in his front door. One of the men then demanded to know “where the [expletive] is my drill?”  They then began to punch the man who tired to escape. But the two men caught him and stomped on him multiple times. The man suffered a broken jaw and a fractured orbital bone.  Police were able to locate one of the alleged perpetrators and he was taken into custody for evaluation.    

Abell

Burglary Residential: 3100-block Guilford Ave., between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., April 4. A burglar broke into a home through the front window and stole a white gold wedding band, a silver Kodak camera, three iPod touches and a Lenovo laptop.

Larceny from Auto: 400 block E. 32nd St., between 12:50 and 1:15 a.m., April 5. A cell phone, $100 and a purse were stolen from a 2002 Lincoln Navigator.

Aggravated Assault: 3100 block Greenmount Ave., 12:32 a.m., April 6. A bouncer working at Melba’s Place was escorting two people out of the bar for  disorderly conduct when they punched him in the face and hit him on the head with a beer bottle.

Lake Evesham

Larceny from Auto: 300 block E. Lake Ave., between 4 p.m., April 1 and 7:30 a.m., April 2. A Garmin GPS and a leather CD case were stolen from a 2002 black GMC Yukon.

Bellona-Gittings

Larceny from Auto: unit block E. Melrose Ave., between 5:30 p.m., April 5 and 9 a.m., April 6. A credit card, debit card and $20 cash were stolen from an unlocked 2000 Subaru.

Chinquapin Park-Belvedere

Larceny from Auto: 500 block E. Northern Parkway, between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m., April 6. A TomTom GPS and drill were stolen after the window of a 2003 GMC was broken.

Rosebank

Burglary Residential: 400 block Rosebank Ave., at 8:30 p.m., April 6. A burglar entered the home through a rear dog door, took a cell phone and stood over a sleeping resident and told her either “your boyfriend is going to regret this” or “hate you for this ” before running out of the house.

Pen Lucy

Burglary Residential: 500-block E. 43rd Street, between 8:45 a.m. and 1:10 p.m., April 5. A burglar entered the home through an unlocked front door and stole a Dell laptop, a Wii game system and $125.

Guilford

Larceny from Auto: 300 block Underwood Court, between 8 a.m., April 1 and 2:40 p.m., April 3.  The front and rear tags were stolen from a white 1996 Mercury Marquis.

Oakenshawe

Aggravated Assault: 3400 block Greenmount Ave., 4:27 p.m., April 6. Following a traffic accident, a Baltimore police officer was trying to get the vehicles involved moved to the side of the road. One of the drivers then tried to drive away. The officer grabbed the vehicle’s car door and told the driver to get out of the car. The driver then accelerated and hit the officer with the door of the vehicle. The driver continued to drive southbound on Greenmount.

Hoes Heights

Attempted Stolen Auto: 100 block Roland Heights Ave., between 2 p.m., April 1 and 7:40 a.m., April 2. The thief got into the car and damaged the ignition but couldn’t steal the vehicle.

Mount Washington

Recovered Stolen Auto: 2500 block Whitney Avenue, 11:15 p.m. April 3. A 1986 Toyota Corolla reported stolen from Baltimore County was recovered after the thief bailed out of the vehicle and ran from the scene.

Medfield

Arson: 1400 block Medfield Ave., 6:15 p.m., April 1. A man has been charged with arson after setting fire to a pile of debris and a bag of suspected dog feces that was placed on the doorstep of a home.

Larceny from Auto: 4100 block Edgehill Ave., 6:15 p.m., April 1. The rear license plate was stolen from a silver 2001 VW Eurovan.

Larceny from Auto: 1300 block W. 42nd St., between 9:31 and 9:54 a.m., April 2. A license plate was stolen from a 1994 Honda.

Roland Park

Larceny: 4900 block Roland Ave., between 6:30 and 10 p.m., April 2. An aluminum trashcan was stolen from a backyard.    

Sabina-Mattfeldt

Larceny: 5900 block Falls Road, between 8 p.m., April 4 and 3 p.m., April 5. A white and black sign was stolen from Acupuncture for All.
