North Baltimore Crime: Robber Escapes After Struggle with Residents

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery Residential Unarmed:  2500 block N. Charles Street, 8 a.m. Feb. 7. The robber entered the home through a window after climbing the fire escape. The residents came home and found the robber going through their property. A struggle ensued, but the robber was able to escape with a pocketbook, laptop, Rolex and a passport.

Burglary Residential: 2900 block N. Calvert Street, between 5:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. Feb 5.  A burglar entered the home by forcing open a rear window. The burglar stole a 32-inch television and $600.

Mid-Govans

Stolen Auto: 500 block Bennighaus Road, between 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Feb. 5. A black 2003 Lincoln LS was stolen.

Winston-Govans

Burglary Commercial: 4900-block York Road, between 10 p.m. Feb. 5 and 12:48 a.m. Feb. 6. Burglar forced open a side door and entered Vaughn Greene Funeral Home, but left without taking any property.

Woodberry

Burglary Commercial: 1700 block Union Avenue, 11:58 a.m. Feb 8. A burglar entered the building and was trying to steal scrap metal when the building supervisor saw him. Police were called and the burglar was arrested.

Rosebank

Attempted Burglary Residential: 300 block E. Belvedere Avenue, 4:35 p.m. Feb. 7. Someone forced open the front door of a home but ran off before they could enter the home.

Oakenshawe

Burglary Residential: 200-block E. University Parkway, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Feb. 8. A burglar broke a rear window, entered the home and stole a silver Powerbook laptop and exited through the front door.

Medfield

Larceny from Auto: 4200 block Elsa Terrace, between 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7 and 8:15 a.m. Feb. 8. A Garmin GPS and a Verizon Internet router were stolen from an unlocked 2006 Lexus E350.

Cross Keys

Burglary Commercial: Unit block Hamill Road, between 4:17 a.m. and 4:54 a.m. Feb. 11.  A burglar broke the glass on the front door of Danker-Fiergang Eye Associates and stole 35 pairs of glasses.

Abell

Larceny from Auto: 400 block E. 32nd Street, between 9: 45 p.m. Feb 10 and 1:25 a.m. Feb. 2.  The door of a 2005 Nissan was forced open and a purse was stolen.

Roland Park

Larceny from Auto: 4300 block Roland Avenue, between 2:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 8. A duffle bag and hockey equipment were stolen from an unlocked 2008 Toyota.

Homeland

Attempted Burglary Garage: 300 block Broxton Road, between 5 p.m. Feb. 8 and 2 p.m. Feb. 9. Someone tried to break into a garage by damaging a side door.

Richnor Springs

Larceny from Auto: 500 Richwood Avenue, between 6:30 p.m. Feb 9 and 8:20 a.m. Feb. 10. A briefcase and personal papers were stolen from an unlocked 2001 Mitsubishi.  

Hampden

Stolen Auto: 1300 block Morling Avenue, between 9 p.m. Feb. 9 and 9 a.m. Feb. 10. A black 2001 Honda Accord was stolen.
