North Baltimore Crime: Spate of Robberies Committed Along York Road

The following information was supplied by the Baltimore City Police Department. In cases where a criminal charge is noted, the information provided does not indicate a conviction.

Armed Robbery: 500 block of Cedarcroft Road, 8:51 p.m., May 25. A man was standing on the corner of Cedarcroft and York roads when he was attacked from behind. A robber showed a handgun and demanded his wallet and money. The robber then went through the man’s pockets and stole his wallet, iPhone and $130.

Armed Robbery: 5900 block of York Road, 12:14 a.m., May 20. A woman was standing at a corner when a robber approached her, and implied he had a weapon. She handed over her wallet and cell phone and the robber ran north on York Road.

Unarmed Robbery: 6000 block of York Road, 8:54 p.m., May 22. A man was walking when a group assaulted him and stole his cell phone before running east in the 500 block of Cedarcroft Road.   

Larceny Shoplifting: 6300 block of York Road, 7 p.m., May 24. A shoplifter stole nine Febreeze air fresheners from the Rite Aid.

Remington

Recovered Stolen Auto: 2600 block of Hampden Avenue, 9:45 a.m., May 20. A blue 2001 Audi with Florida tags was stolen and later recovered.

Burglary Shed: 500 block of West 27th Street, 8:13 a.m., May 21. A burglar entered the rear yard and stole a red hand truck from a shed.

Recovered Stolen Auto: 500 block of West 27th Street, 11:30 p.m., May 22. A black 2002 Lincoln Navigator with Pennsylvania tags was recovered. 

Burglary Commercial: 300 block of West 29th Street, between 3:40 and 8:34 a.m., May 21. A burglar entered the home after breaking a front window and stole $2,000.

Wyman Park

Larceny from Building: 3100 block of Wyman Park Drive, between 8 a.m and 3 p.m., May 22. A wallet containing $200, checks and a Blackberry were stolen from an unlocked office.

Harwood

Aggravated Assault: 300 block of Ilchester Avenue, 10:22 p.m., May 25. A man was in the basement of his house when he heard a noise on the first floor. When he went to see what the noise was, he saw a man standing at the top of the basement stairs. They began to fight and the resident was stabbed in the left side of his body. The intruder ran out of the house and the resident was taken to Johns Hopkins Hospital with superficial wounds.

Recovered Stolen Auto: 500 block of East 25th Street, 12:45 p.m., May 22. A white 2005 Dodge Stratus with Maryland plates was recovered.

Charles Village

Larceny from Auto: 2500 block of North Calvert Street, between 10 p.m., May 22 and 6:50 a.m., May 23. A wrench and tool bag were stolen from a white 2009 GMC Sierra.

Armed Robbery: 2600 block of Guilford Avenue, 12:05 a.m., May 23. A man was walking when robbers approached with black handguns and took his iPhone. 

Larceny: 3400 block of North Charles Street, between 5:40 and 5:45 p.m., May 22. Victim left her property on a wall outside of the school library to go for a run. When she got back her keys and cell phone were stolen.

Burglary Residential: 2900 block of Guilford Avenue, between 8:30 a.m., May 21 and 7:15 p.m., May 24. A burglar entered the home through a window near the front door and stole an HP laptop, diamond earrings, a jewelry box and a camera.  

Abell

Larceny from Auto: 400 block of East 32nd Street, between 6:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., May 22. A handicap placard was stolen from a red 2008 Chrysler Town and Country.

Larceny from Auto: 2900 block of Barclay Street, between 1 a.m., May 24 and 2:30 a.m., May 25. A Garmin GPS, iPod and car radio were stolen from a white 2003 Chevy Venture.  

Roland Park

Stolen Auto: 200 block of Woodlawn Road, 6:04 p.m., May 25. A 2005 Suzuki RMZ 250 motorcycle as stolen.

Burglary Commercial: 4500 block of Falls Road, between 10 p.m., May 21 and 6:51 a.m., May 22. A burglar broke a glass door and ransacked the station.

Homeland

Burglary Residential: 5800 block of Meadowood Road, between 9:30 p.m., May 20 and 7:30 a.m., May 21. A burglar entered the home through an unlocked side door and stole a brown purse containing jewelry, a green wallet, $100 and car keys.

Larceny from Auto: 400 block of Homeland Avenue, between 8 p.m., May 22 and 8 a.m., May 23. A license plate was stolen from a 2003 Ford.

Burglary Garage: 300 block of Woodbourne Avenue, between 3 and 4 p.m., May 24. A Huffy child’s bike and a women’s racing bike were stolen from an unlocked garage.

Burglary Garage: 300 block of Paddington Road, 6:03 p.m., May 25. Two bikes were stolen from a garage. A neighbor witnessed the burglars enter the garage and exit with the bikes.

Chinquapin Park-Belvedere

Stolen Auto: 500 block of East Northern Parkway, between 7 p.m., May 20 and 6 a.m., May 21. A green 1999 Mercedes E320 with Maryland plates was stolen.

Lake Walker

Larceny from Auto: 700 block of Hollen Road, between 6 p.m., May 24 and 9 a.m., May 25. A Fossil briefcase and a Dell computer were stolen from a grey 2013 Mazda CV5.

Guilford

Larceny: 4500 block of Eastway, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., May 20. A white Igloo cooler and black Weber smoker were stolen from a front porch.

Burglary Residential: 4500 block of Eastway, between 10 a.m. and 10:45 p.m., May 21. A burglar entered through the front door—possibly using a key—and stole a Dell laptop.

Larceny from Auto: Unit block of St. Martin’s Road, between 11:30 p.m., May 21 and noon, May 24. A Garmin GPS was stolen from a tan 1996 Honda Civic.

Larceny: 4400 block of North Charles Street, between 11 p.m., May 23 and 1 a.m., May 24. A bag containing a gold Rolex watch, silver cuff links, a gold pocket watch, wedding bands and $1,700 in cash were stolen from a home. The homeowner had multiple people in the house at the time.

Oakenshawe

Larceny from Auto: 3600 block of Greenway, between 7 p.m., May 23 and 7 a.m., May 24. A Kindle tablet, headphones and a DVD remote were stolen from a vehicle.

Keswick

Larceny from Auto: 4400 block of Wickford Road, between 3 and 3:15 p.m., May 25. A black 2011 BMW was broken into and $20 was stolen.

Hampden

Armed Commercial Robbery: 1000 block of West 41st Street, at 3:22 a.m., May 20.  A robber entered the Royal Farms Store, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded the cash register be opened. The clerk complied, the suspect went around the counter took the money and ran through the alley toward the 4000 block of Falls Road.

Larceny from Auto: 3300 block of Falls Road, between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m., May 20. A Nextar GPS was stolen from a red 2002 Chevy Silverado.

Stolen Auto: 3300 block of Hickory Avenue, between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m., May 20. A gold 2008 Taizhou Chuanl scooter was solen.

Aggravated Assault: 1100 block of West 36th Street, 7:40 p.m., May 23. A man was talking to a woman when another man approached him and began to argue, pulled out a knife  and hit the man in the head. The assailant ran from the area. Police were later able to identify a suspect but were unable to arrest him.

Burglary Residential: 3500 block of Hickory Avenue, between 8:30 a.m., May 23 and 9 a.m., May 24. A burglar stole an air conditioning unit.

Stolen Auto: 1100 block of West 36th Street, 3:50 a.m., May 24. A red 2011 Adventures scooter was stolen and recovered a few minutes later in the 3500 block of Falls Road.

Burglary Residential: 3400 block of Hickory Avenue, between 4 and 8:55 p.m., May 24. Two PlayStation 2 game systems were stolen from a home after a door was not properly secured.
