North Baltimore Man Killed in Scooter Crash

Police said the crash was under investigation and charges may be filed.

A 33-year-old Baltimore man was killed in a scooter crash in Lansdowne Monday afternoon, the Baltimore County Police Department reported.

Derrick Lawson, of the 2900 block of Grantley Avenue, was pronounced deceased at St. Agnes Hospital, police said.

At 2:46 p.m., police responded to Hollins Ferry Road at Hammonds Ferry Road to find a crash between Lawson's motor scooter and a Honda CRV, according the report.

The CRV had been traveling east on Hollins Ferry Road and the scooter was headed north on Hammonds Ferry Road when the two collided at the intersection, police said.

Lawson was taken to St. Agnes Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased, according to police.

Investigators will deliver a report to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office, which will determine whether any charges will be filed, police said.
