Northern District Commander Tapped for White House Workshop

Maj. Sabrina Tapp-Harper participated in a workshop on the Violence Against Women Act.

Baltimore City police commander of the Northern District, was selected by the White House and participated in a workshop on reauthorizing the Violence Against Women Act.

Tapp-Harper served as a law enforcement representative for the administration of President Barack Obama at the event on Wednesday. Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Eric Holder and Sharon Love, the mother of murdered University of Virginia lacrosse player Yeardley Love, all spoke at the workshop, according to a news release.

The workshop was held in advance of the U.S. Senate starting discussions about the reauthorization of the act this week.
