Police Arrest Father for Shooting Son

The 25-year-old man allegedly shot his girlfriend and their 4-year-old son.

(UPDATED) 1:17 p.m., Friday—Police have arrested 25-year-old Eric Ford Sr. after they say he shot his girlfriend and son in Better Waverly Wednesday night.

According to police, the domestic dispute ended with Ford allegedly shooting his girlfriend in the lip and arm and his 4-year-old son in the hip in the 900 block of Gorsuch Avenue.

Sgt. Anthony Smith, a police spokesman, said that Ford was identified as a possible suspect by police Wedensday night, and that he was arrested in connection with the shootings this morning.

Ford has been charged with first degree attempted murder, first degree assault, second degree assault, reckless endagerment and several handgun related charges, according to police.

The girlfriend and the son are both expected to survive their wounds.
