Police ID Man in Possible Waverly Homicide

A 41-year-old man was found dead in his home suffering from a gunshot wound in the 3600 block of Old York Road.

Police have identified a man found dead suffering from a gunshot wound in a Waverly Home.

David Ervin, 41, was the man who was found dead inside a home in the 3600 block of Old York Road on Wednesday afternoon, said Sgt. Anthony Smith, a Baltimore police spokesman.

He said police had been called to the 3600 block of Old York Road on Tuesday night for a report of shots fired, but didn’t find anything.

The next morning family members went to check on Ervin and found him dead.

Detectives are still investigating the incident.

I am sorry for your loss. If neighborhoods would get mad and start neighborhood COP watches in large groups, this may stop some crime. I can't believe criminals would commit crimes when there are large groups of residents on patrol. If a neighborhood is being taken over criminals, reisdents should take back their neighborhood. It has to start somewhere since the police can't be everywhere.

I think its sad that this is the world we live in. David was a very close friend and was a loving caring person. He was a father soon to be grandfather, brother, son, nephew and friend. His laughter and love will be missed . People need to realize how valuable life is and think about the families left behind.

My condolences go out to David's family and friends. David was a personal friend of mine, We sang karaoke together. David who loved to sing Teddy Pendergrass song, Come on over to my place, who sounded just like Teddy Pendergrass, will truly missed. To the family : I know the pain of losing someone close. My son's life was abruptly taken 3 years ago. Hold your head up, I know that it may not be easy. God has you all in the comfort of His arms. Remember, I have been where you all are today. God Will pull you all through Earth has No sorrow that Heaven CANNOT heal. Tomasina Degree
