Update, Oct. 16, 12 a.m.: Prince George's County Police responded to the scene of an armed robbery off-campus at Calvert Road and Princeton Avenue Monday night at 9:37 p.m., according to University of Maryland Police officials.
This is the fourth armed robbery to occur in College Park in six days.
The two male victims, who are UMD students, were running along Calvert Road when they were approached by a man who showed them a handgun and demanded their belongings, police said. One of the victims complied, and then the suspect along with another man fled on foot away from the area.
University of Maryland police alerted the campus community around 9:45 p.m. notifying them of an armed man in the area. Ten minutes later they tweeted a description of the suspects—both black and one wearing a black hoodie with a white number "33." At around 11:15 p.m., police gave an "all clear" after they believed the suspects left the area.
PGPD will conduct the investigation.

Original Post, Oct. 15, 10 p.m.: Police spent Monday night searching for a reported armed man near Rhode Island Avenue and Calvert Road in College Park, according to a University of Maryland Alert.
An alert was sent out to the University of Maryland community around 9:45 p.m. after University of Maryland and Prince George's County police received a report of an armed man in the area.
According to police, they were searching for two suspects—both black and one wearing a black hoodie with a white number "33." That suspect was allegedly armed with a handgun, UMD Police said.
The incident was not on the university's campus.
At around 11:15 p.m., police gave an all clear, saying the suspects were no longer in the area.
