Police Investigating Villages of Homeland Home Invasion

Police are searching for a robber following a home invasion in the Villages of Homeland.

According to Baltimore police, at 1 a.m. on Monday in the 300 block of Homeland Southway, a robber walked into a home in the neighborhood through a sliding glass door while a man and his brother were watching a movie.

The robber was armed with a black handgun and demanded money from the resident.

The resident then struggled with the robber who eventually ran out of the home. 

Although the suspect was wearing a mask at the time of the attack, his watch did fall off in the struggle with the resident and is being processed as evidence.

Maj. Sabrina Tapp-Harper, commander of the Northern District, said police are investigating the possibility this is related to at least one other recent robbery in the neighborhood.

"We do believe two of them maybe related but we’re not certain right now," Tapp-Harper said.

She also said the district is coordinating with security at nearby Loyola University of Maryland to adjust deployments in hopes that may lead to an arrest in these incidents.   

In February, two robbers armed with black handguns chased two women into their apartment in the neighborhood. Both women had their purses taken.

A pizza deliveryman was robbed at gunpoint in the neighborhood on March 8.
