Shoplifter Drops Crucial Clue: Its ID

The thief was trying to steal food, Air Wick and sponges.

Well this is a new way to get caught: leave your ID at the crime scene.

According to Baltimore police, at 6 p.m., Feb. 6 a shoplifter was trying to steal several items from Family Dollar, 2813 Greenmount Ave.

A security guard spotted the thief trying to take food, Air Wick and sponges and tried to stop the shoplifter from getting out of the store.

When the security guard grabbed the shoplifter it pulled away and ran out of the store.

But when the security guard grabbed the thief it dropped not only the shoplifted items, but also its ID.

The police obtained a criminal summons based on the ID left at the scene.

You mean " it" is from Baltimore, not "he".

First the headline reads" Presidents Day" instead of" Presidents' Day" and then in a second headline the pronoun "it" appears instead of he or she. . Or maybe "it" was a robot. Anyway, I hope this level of shoddy news writing is not being taught in todays jornalism skools..
