Mt. Washington Tavern Fire Damage Estimated at $2.5M

The owner of the Mt. Washington Tavern has vowed to rebuild following Monday morning's fire.

The total damage from the is estimated to be $2.5 million, said Chief Kevin Cartwright, a spokesman for the Baltimore City Fire Department.

The cost of the damage to the building is estimated to be $2 million and damage to the contents is estimated to be $500,000.

Fire officials are also still investigating the cause of the fire, Cartwright said.
