Teen Faces Criminal Charges After Car Chase

It's unknown if the 17-year-old will be charged as an adult.

A 17-year-old boy is facing criminal charges after leading a car chase from Pennsylvania that ended in a crash in North Baltimore.

According to Pennsylvania State Police Trooper Adam Reed, the boy has been charged with fleeing and eluding police, unauthorized use of an automobile and reckless endangerment.

It was unclear if the boy would be charged as an adult and a juvenile attorney fpr the York County District Attorney’s office was not available for comment.

The chase started around York, PA after troopers spotted a truck on Interstate 83 that had been reported stolen by the Fairview Township Police Department.

The officers tried to stop the vehicle but if fled south on I-83, then onto Interstate 695 and then to Charles Street where the vehicle crashed near Cold Spring Lane.

Reed said that no one was injured in the crash and that the boy was taken into custody. He declined to give the driver’s name because he is a juvenile.

Residents in the Towson area reported on Twitter seeing dozens of police cars in pursuit during the chase.
