Baltimore Sun: Officer Released from Hospital

Teresa Rigby was injured after being knocked off Interstate 83 last week.

, who was injured when she was knocked off an elevated portion of Interstate 83 while assisting a disabled motorist, was released from the hospital today, according to a Baltimore Sun article.

Police Spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, told the newspaper that Rigby has a “long road ahead” and supporters are looking to set up a fund to pay for her medical care.

Last week, Rigby was knocked off an elevated portion of I-83 onto a parking lot 25 feet below the highway after a car smashed into her patrol vehicle and knocked it into the disabled motorist’s vehicle.

Rigby underwent a procedure to repair a shattered leg and facial reconstructive surgery.   

Neither the identities of others involved in the accident not the cause of the accident have been released by police, according to the article in The Sun.
