'Baltimore Sun': City to Lose More Legislators

Maryland is in the process of redistricting seats in the state legislature based on the 2010 Census.

Baltimore’s delegation in the General Assembly is set to be reduced again, according to The Baltimore Sun.

The state is in the process of redistricting the boundaries of its legislative districts based on the most recent Census data, and Baltimore is set to lose legislators or a legislative district, according to the article.

Baltimore has seen its number of legislators steadily decline as its population has dwindled.

The new districts would take effect in the 2014 elections and legislators would begin representing those districts in 2015.

Each legislative district consists of three delegates and a senator.

Currently North Baltimore is divided among three legislative districts.

District 40:

Del. Shawn Z. Tarrant

Del. Barbara Robinson

Del. Frank Conaway Jr.

District 41:

Sen. Lisa Gladden

Del. Samuel “Sandy” Rosenberg

Del. Jill Carter

Del. Nathaniel “Nat” Oaks

District 43:

Sen. Joan Carter Conway

Del. Maggie McIntosh

Del. Curt Anderson

Del. Mary Washington
