Check Out Monday's City Council Agenda

The Baltimore City Council at 5 p.m. holds its regular meeting.

The big item on the Baltimore City Council's agenda for Monday is the expected final approval of Mayor Stephanie-Rawlings Blake's proposed redistricting plan.

Some North Baltimore lawmakers have been unhappy with the plan. Belinda Conaway, D-District 7, has called the proposed map illegal. She has complained because the new map removes two commercial areas from her district—the proposed 25th Street Station in Remington and Hampden's 36th Street.

Councilwoman Mary Pat Clarke, D-District 14, has also been unhappy because the proposed map removes the Penn-Lucy neighborhood from her district.

The plan has been heavily criticized by Councilman James Kraft, D-District 1, for splitting the Butchers Hill neighborhood between two council districts and for splitting the southeast side of the city's growing Latino population.

The City Council is also expected to receive four executive nominations to the Anti-Animal Abuse Advisory Commission.
