City to Make Ice, Meals Available

City will provide two Military Ready to Eat meals and a bag of ice to residents without power.

The Baltimore City Department of Housing and Community Development will make available a limited amount of ice and Military Ready to Eat meals to residents still without power.

These residents are eligible to receive two meals and a bag of ice. For more information and to receive assistance, call the department at 410-396-1214.

“Despite the steady progress we’ve seen in recent days in getting power restored, city government will continue to provide critical services to residents as we clean up from Hurricane Irene,” Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake said in a press release.

There are more than 7,000 Baltimore city residents still without power on Thursday afternoon, according to BGE's website.
