DPW: No Swimming in Reservoirs

The Department of Public Works warns that its unsafe to swim in reservoirs.

The Department of Public Works is warning residents not to swim in the city’s reservoirs.

Residents are allowed to hike, boat and fish around the reservoirs but are unsafe for swimming because of low water temperatures, rapid drop off and currents, according to a news release.

The man made lakes are made to house drinking water and anyone caught swimming can be fined up to $1,000 and jailed.
