DPW Urges Storm Precautions

City residents are being encouraged to clean up trash and loose debris that may be washed into city waterways.

More heavy rain is on its way toward Baltimore and the Department of Public Works is urging residents to be prepared.

Thunderstorms bringing possibly heavy rains are in the National Weather Service's forecast throughout the rest of the day.

As a result, the department is urging residents to take precaution and clear storm drains, keep an eye on home sump pumps and to stay clear of streams and areas prone to flooding.

In a news release, the department encourages residents to pay particular attention to picking up any loose trash and debris to prevent it from being washed into the area waterways, such as the Stony Run.
