Flash Flood Warning Issued for Baltimore City

A flood and severe thunderstorm warning are both in effect until 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The National Weather Service issued flash flood and severe thunderstorm warnings for Baltimore City Wednesday afternoon.

The warnings are in effect through 7:15 p.m. According to the alert released just after 4 p.m., more than an inch of rain has already fallen in some parts of the city, with rainfall of up to another inch expected tonight.

The alert warns that downtown Baltimore is particularly at risk for flooding and that the rain may cause flash flooding of area streams and streets.
