Mayor's Chief of Staff Steps Down

Sophie Dagenais resigns after a year on Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's staff.

Sophie Dagenais, the mayor's chief of staff, will step down from her post later this month.

Dagenais' departure was announced in a press release from Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake's office Monday morning.

“Sophie Dagenais has served the people of Baltimore very well, and I am very thankful for all of her diligent efforts over the past year,” Rawlings-Blake said in a press release.  “Sophie fulfilled her commitment with great passion and dedication.  The entire office wishes her all the best in her future endeavors and I am pleased to have her strong friendship and continued support going forward.”

Dagenais left the law firm Ballard Spahr LLP and joined Rawling-Blake's staff as she transitioned from council president to mayor following the resignation of former Mayor Sheila Dixon.
