Meister Lashes Out After Beating Lawsuit

Blogger Adam Meister vowed to keep writing about City Councilwoman Belinda Conaway and her family after her lawsuit seeking $21 million was dismissed.

After a libel lawsuit against Adam Meister was thrown out of court Monday, the Baltimore blogger sued by City Councilwoman Belinda Conaway vowed to keep writing about the elected official's family.

Conaway's lawsuit against Meister was dismissed in Baltimore Circuit Court on Monday afternoon. In a telephone interview, an angry Meister lashed out at the Conaway family. The councilwoman’s father, Frank Conaway Sr., is clerk of the circuit court and a mayoral candidate. Her brother, Frank Jr., is a state delegate.

“They gave up. They should have gave up a long time ago,” Meister said.

He said that allegations in the lawsuit that his blog caused her mental duress were laughable, and that he's the one who suffered.

“This was mean-spirited. This put me through hell,” Meister said of the lawsuit.

Earlier this year Meister, who blogs for www.examiner.com, wrote an article and posted documents alleging Conaway doesn’t live in Baltimore City.

Conaway responded by filing a lawsuit against the website’s owners and Meister for $21 million.

Now that the lawsuit has been dismissed, Meister said he will continue to write about Belinda Conaway and support Nick Mosby, who is challenging her for the District 7 Baltimore City Council seat.

“They’re losers and they’re going to lose again real soon,” Meister said.
