Northwest Sanitation Yard Becomes 'Super Citizen Convenience Center'

City officials celebrated new amenities at the Remington facility's re-opening.

The Northwest Sanitation Yard in Remington reopened Tuesday with a new ramp to make depositing trash and recycling easier, and plans to add a hazardous waste disposal container.

Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and other city officials celebrated the christening of the sanitation yard as the city's first "Super Citizen Convenience Center."

The new center has a ramp that allows citizens to drive up and deposit trash and recycling into roll off dumpsters. Previously, residents would have to carry the trash and recycling over to the side of the receptacles.
