Open Thread: Does Councilman Curran’s Bankruptcy Matter?

Last week The Baltimore Sun reported that Councilman Robert Curran has filed for personal bankruptcy.
Curran did not elaborate on what caused his financial dilemma, but told the newspaper that he did so to avoid foreclosure on his Northeast Baltimore home.
Curran is the son of former Councilman J. Joseph Curran, brother of former Attorney General J. Joseph Curran Jr., and uncle of Catherine Curran O’Malley, the wife of Gov. Martin O’Malley.
