The Northwest Sanitation Yard will feature new amenities to help residents dispose of waste.

The Northwest Sanitation Yard in Remington will be re-opened as a “Super Citizen Convenience Center” on Oct. 18, according to the Department of Public Works.

Changes to the center, at 2840 Sisson St., will include easier access for residents to dispose of trash and recycling, as well as having a permanent hazardous waste collection container, according to a news release announcing the change.

Residents will be able to bring household hazardous waste to be disposed of at the center on the last Friday and Saturday of the month, starting in October. The program will run annually April through November.
