Trash Collection Rescheduled for Saturday

The city will be picking up trash this weekend because of the New Year's Day holiday.

The Department of Public Works is reminding residents that if they’re trash pick up or recycling day fell on Tuesday (New Year’s Day) that the make up collection day is Saturday.

Curbside Christmas tree collection has also started, and residents may place trees outside on their regularly scheduled trash day where their trash would normally be collected, according to a news release.

Free tree mulching is also being offered every Friday and Saturday in January from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Reedbird Avenue Citizen Convenience Center, 701 Reedbird Ave.

Residents and community groups are encouraged to bring bags or containers so that mulch can be collected and used on neighborhood gardens, according to the News Release.
