You Tell Us: Do You Support A Gas Tax Increase?

Patch wants to know what our readers think about this issue.

Gov. Martin O’Malley has proposed Maryland apply its 6 percent sales tax to gas.

O’Malley wants to use the tax to boost funding for transportation infrastructure. The state hasn’t raised its 23.5 cents per gallon gas tax since 1992.

However, the gas tax is unpopular and some powerful figures in the state legislature, such as Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, have expressed concerns about raising the gas tax with the price of gas so high, according to the Washington Post.
